SquashPal Privacy Policy

SquashPal is operated by Hephaestus Ventures LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use the SquashPal app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information: your email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text) and display name.
  • Squash profile: skill level, goals and preferences you enter.
  • Videos you upload: match or practice clips and basic file details (such as length and upload time). Videos may show you and other people on court.
  • Analysis results: the coaching reports, movement measurements and practice plans created from your videos, plus any feedback you give on a report.
  • Purchase information: whether you have an active SquashPal Pro subscription, which plan you chose, and its renewal dates. Apple processes all payments, and we never receive your card details.
  • App usage: basic in-app events, such as when a report is viewed or a purchase starts. They are linked to your account and used only to improve SquashPal. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites, and we show no ads.
  • Support messages: anything you send to us by email.

2. How we use your information We use your information to run your account, analyze your videos and create your coaching reports, provide SquashPal Pro and enforce analysis limits, respond to support requests, keep the service secure, and understand how the app is used so we can improve it. We do not use your videos, images or reports to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. AI analysis and the providers we use Coaching reports are written by third-party AI models. We ask for your permission in the app before anything is shared, and you can withdraw it anytime in Profile → Data and AI. With your permission, when you submit a clip we send:

  • a small set of still frames from your clip (these may show you and others on court),
  • movement measurements calculated on your phone, and
  • your session details (session type, focus area, skill level and any question you add).

We do not send your name, email address, account ID or your full video.

This data goes through Vercel’s AI Gateway to Google (Gemini), which writes your report. If Google is unavailable, Anthropic (Claude) is used instead. These providers process the data only to create your report and handle it under their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Other service providers

  • Supabase: secure hosting for your account, profile, reports and videos. Videos are kept in private storage that only your account can access.
  • RevenueCat: manages subscription status using an anonymous account identifier and your Apple purchase records.
  • Apple: processes payments and subscriptions.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety or rights of users or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition. Any new owner would remain bound by this policy.

5. How long we keep data, and deleting it We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete any analysis in the app, which also deletes its video. You can delete your whole account anytime in Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, profile, videos, reports, feedback and usage events. Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account settings. Backups may keep copies for a short time before they are overwritten.

6. Security Data is encrypted in transit, and access to your videos and reports is limited to your account. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

7. Your rights Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or limit certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Email us to make a request, and we may need to confirm your identity first. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

8. Children SquashPal is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy If we make important changes, we will update the date above and let you know in the app.
